Hortus Gymnasium has undertaken the project and obtained the necessary permits to initiate construction in order to transform a small dilapidated rural building. This building is legally registered and located beneath a massive centuries-old oak tree, built on two levels, nestled against a slope, with access to each level from different ground levels downhill and uphill. The new warehouse, made of stone and spanning 83 square meters across two different levels, will be divided into distinct compartments. These compartments will be isolated according to their specific category of organic farming tools and materials, ensuring separate storage conditions for control and safety purposes. The warehouse will be terraced, featuring an external staircase providing access to the terrace level. The terrace will serve as the base for an overhanging structure made of laminated wood. This structure will include a platform for educational purposes, allowing visitors to experience the elevated part of the lush oak tree. This concept takes inspiration from the innovative and spectacular designs used by the U.S. Forest Service’s Ranger Corps for Boy Scout education in American forests.
