cold greenhouse to store medicinal plants

In the design of the “cold greenhouse,” significant attention was given to garden design principles. A structure was constructed using laminated wooden beams, featuring a striking double consecutive roof pitch to cover two separate 6-meter-deep and 18-meter-long sections. These sections were positioned at different levels, creating a beautiful undulating slope that follows the natural topography of the surrounding countryside. The scenic structure, with its projecting roof pitches facing southwest, allows for the installation of a significant number (approximately 40 kW) of solar panels. These panels are spaced apart to provide shade and protection while allowing the passage of air and light. The greenhouse designated as the “cold greenhouse” includes 40 square meters of raised and well-drained beds and planters, adorned with an artistic geometric pattern made of stone and brick inlays. These beds will house a catalog collection of native medicinal plants (2 or 3 specimens per species), serving as a reference for related demonstrative activities and the extraction of essential oils.
